Why Garage Floors Fail

Most failed garage coatings have one thing in common: the problem was never the topcoat. It was what happened — or didn't happen — underneath it. Bare concrete looks tough, but it's porous: it absorbs oil, road salt and moisture, and it moves with temperature and settlement. Paint it over without proper preparation and you get the classic story: peeling within a year, hot-tire pickup, stains bleeding through.

The BeaverX Preparation Standard

Every BeaverX floor starts the same way: inspection, repair, mechanical preparation. We diamond-grind the slab to open the concrete and create a proper bond profile, repair cracks and surface defects first, and treat contamination before any coating goes down. A premium coating cannot fix poor preparation underneath it.

Floor Conditions We Inspect

  • Cracks — hairline to structural (we tell you which is which)
  • Oil and fluid contamination
  • Old paint or failing coatings
  • Pitting, spalling and pop-outs
  • Moisture risk
  • Control joints and edges

Performance vs. Premium

We offer two system levels — BeaverX Performance and BeaverX Premium. Both clear the same minimum standard; both get the same assessment, repair and preparation. Premium steps up specification for homeowners who want the best long-term performance and appearance we offer. We recommend the level after we've seen your floor and heard what matters to you.

How Coating Technology Works Here

You'll hear a lot of product names in this industry — epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea. Here's our position: tell us how the garage is used and what condition the concrete is in, and we recommend the appropriate system. We don't hand you a menu of chemicals to choose from. BeaverX is the professional making the judgment — that's what you're paying for.

Full-Flake Systems

Our signature finish is a full broadcast flake system: primer, pigmented base coat, full flake broadcast, and a protective topcoat. The result is a seamless, textured, great-looking floor that hides minor slab imperfections and stands up to real garage life.

Frequently Asked

How long will my garage be out of use?
It depends on the system and conditions. We'll give you an expected timeline with your quote — and we'll be honest about cure times rather than promising miracles.
Can you coat over my old paint or coating?
Sometimes — if it's sound and well bonded. Often the right answer is removal first. We'll tell you which during assessment.
What about cracks?
Non-structural cracks are repaired as part of our standard preparation. If we see signs of structural movement, we'll tell you plainly and point you to the right specialist.
Do I need to clear the garage?
Only if you choose Floor Essential. With Easy Garage and Complete Garage Reset, we help with clear-out, protection and move-back.
